The Campaign to Prevent Falls in Construction is a joint effort by government-labor-management to address the top cause of construction industry fatalities. Each year in the U.S. more than 200 construction workers are killed and over 10,000 are seriously injured by falls. The campaign’s goal is to prevent fatal falls from roofs, ladders, and scaffolds by encouraging construction contractors to:
- PLAN ahead to get the job done safely.
- PROVIDE the right equipment.
- TRAIN everyone to use the equipment safely.
The campaign partners include CPWR – The Center for Construction Research and Training, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), state government, private industry, trade associations, academia, professional and labor organizations.
CPWR, the campaign website’s host, is an international leader in applied research and training for the construction industry, and serves as the National Construction Center for NIOSH.
